Lake Shore Limited

While traveling between Chicago and the northern United States with the Lake Shore Limited, a part of your journey would consist of sections of New York City, Boston, and the southern shore of Lake Erie. The train follows the former trek of the New York Central Railroad’s Lake Shore Limited that used to operate between 1897 and 1956. AMTRAK revived it later and follows the same route that includes South Bend, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Toledo. From here, the train follows the Empire Corridor through Rochester to Albany, where it divides into two sections. One section continues to Boston and Springfield, while the other heads to the Empire Corridor to New York City.
